Inflation is generally defined as the continued increase in the average prices of goods and services in a given region.
A Statista report On Global inflation rate from 2000 to 2022, with forecasts until 2028 shows that “[…] Inflation is currently high across many areas of the globe, even in regions that have not witnessed high inflation for several decades. A series of compounding issues such as rising energy and food prices, fiscal instability in the wake of the pandemic, and consumer insecurity have created a new global recession, and global inflation in 2023 is estimated to have reached 6.9 percent. This is the highest annual increase in inflation since 1996.”

The World Health Organisation (WHO)’s views on how crucial quality food is for babies, infant, toddlers, and the youth is unequivocal.

“The initiation of healthy dietary practices, commencing with breastfeeding from an early age, not only fosters optimal physical growth but also plays a crucial role in enhancing cognitive development. Meanwhile, many studies have proved how parents from higher socio-economic backgrounds / status who are financially able to feed their children with freshly cooked meals with fresh ingredients, are more likely to grow children with a higher IQ.
In other words, the freshness and quality of food matters more than just being full, especially when children are young and still developing.
While society and schooling systems often focus on cognitive abilities and analytical skills our editorial also believes the foundation for any learning starts with ensuring that children are well nourished both physically and mentally.
A recent UNICEF-World Bank analysis report on poverty send chills down the spine: “An estimated 333 million children globally are living in extreme poverty […]”.
These statistics show that millions of children are facing hunger and are surviving on extremely poor diets, which significantly impacts their educational performance and engagement.
Decades ago, who would have thought that eating a balanced meal would become a luxury?
Our editorial is aware that as a parent, you might need to treat yourself to a new car, a new house…. Either as a self-gift or to indirectly show off that you socially belong to the upper class.
As a parent, there is no shame if an economic crisis has forced you to park your car to trade quality food for your household with what you spent on petrol on a monthly basis.

Below are the reasons why as a parent you may put on hold personal projects to save your children from hunger and malnutrition.
You may put on hold a mortgage yet to be, a nice car, a nice pair of shoes and invest more on quality food.

Physician Hippocrates (460-370 BC) – back to whom the course of Western medicine can be traced– believed that diseases had natural causes and thus required natural cures: he used various plant-based remedies in his treatments.

Our editorial is saddened regarding the numerous children, students and parents from around the world, who have been robbed the right to education and parenthood, whether it be by being kidnapped, killed, abused or starved.🕊️🕯️
The number of pupils, students and parents snatched has recently hit the headlines in Mainstream Media and social networks. It is with a bruised heart that our editorial realizes that many pupils and students around the world will not attend their schools and universities. Just like these teachers and lecturers who suddenly lost their lives doing their job. Our editorial 🗞️🌏 addresses a pious thought for all these souls. .🕊️🕯️
