Death disregards details: geographical, ethnic, tribal, gender, social class, skin tones!

From natural disasters such as: apocalyptic flooding in Spain, France, earthquakes in Dschang in West Cameroon, Morocco, Taiwan, casualties in Darfur, Gaza, Bagdad, Congo…  by extension the unreported deaths from around the world, humans are dying every second worldwide in real life.

Whether by natural death, violence, sects, cults, sacrificial magic, professional exclusion, cyber bulling, rape, slavery, … death is always the unfortunate outcome of humanities plight.

Statistics speak for themselves: “There were 61 million people who died in 2023 […] over 56 million deaths occur annually meaning approximately 4.6 million deaths monthly thus 150,000 daily.”

Every minute, people die from being trapped in cults, medical negligence, by natural disasters, sexual assault, sects, human trafficking ring, wars, shooting of drugs, sacrificial voodoo, genocide, sex trafficking gone wrong, from clinical trials, chemical poison, poison,  poverty, discrimination, black magic, social exclusion, cyber bullying… the list goes on!

Humans should be what we value the most in life.

Although reconstructive plastic surgery to restore function and appearance to the human body after illness, disability by birth or by accident have accomplished miracles in human conditions, medical breakthroughs are yet to discover plastic surgery to enhance IQ performance.

Just like Artificial Intelligence is yet to pump real blood in electric dolls.

The month of November is traditionally for the Catholic community- a time to remember those who have died.

It is related to the fact that the end of November is the end of the Liturgical Year with a new year starting the First Sunday of Advent – the four-week period in preparation before Christmas.

By extension, politicians chose and other cultures from around the world adopted November as remembrance month. In France, Belgium, United Kingdom and elsewhere November 11th is Remembrance Day for example.

Remembrance Day is a national holiday that commemorates the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne in France. It is also believed to be the recollection of a single day, the Armistice of 1918 that finally brought the battles of the First World War (1914-1918) to an end.

By extension, Remembrance Day is a Memorial Day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to honour armed forces members who have died on the front line. The day is also marked by war remembrances in several other non-Commonwealth countries.

All cultures in the world pay tribute to their deceased in one way or another. The holidays resemble one another but with a different meaning and practice espoused.

Halloween (every October 31st is a recently imported Anglo-Saxon holiday.)

All Saints’ Day (every November 1st, celebrates the saints)

All Souls’ Day (every November 2nd, commemorates the deceased).

If All Saints’ Day is a public holiday, it is because it is the one out of the three which the Catholic Church holds the most dear.

At first, Christianity celebrated its martyrs, then it decided to honour its saints ‘All Saints’ which means “all saints”.

It is believed Pope Gregory III (690–741 A.D.) was the one who moved the date of All Saints’ Day to November 1st on the Old-Style calendar when he founded an oratory in St. Peter’s at the Vatican to exalt the apostles, saints, martyrs, and “all the just made perfect who are at rest throughout the world”.

In 1801, Napoléon Bonaparte officially made November 1st a public holiday.
