As we head towards the end of January, the hopes we ended 2016 with are to be fruitful throughout
2017 and beyond only if coupled with a joyful attitude, hope and optimism.
Everyone who is able to enjoy their physical and emotional attributes as human beings should appreciate how fortunate they are in shaping their own lives.
Recent sobering facts on global deaths related to stress raise some eyebrows: according to the Center for Disease Control/National Institute on Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), “110 million people die every year as a direct result of stress. That is 7 people every 2 seconds.”
The NIOSH is the main US federal agency responsible for conducting research into occupational safety and health matters.
Also, scientists suggest worrying can shorten your life expectancy by as much as 17 years, so don’t pull your hair out for petty issues.
Sudden emotional stress can be a trigger for serious cardiac problems, including heart attacks.
The main stress-related diseases are as follows: heart disease, premature death, high blood pressure, asthma, obesity, diabetes, headaches, depression and anxiety, gastrointestinal problems.
