After the reading  of our article entitled “Merry Christmas to the children in war zones”, on December 16, 2011, Carolina Zishiri: the German peace activist from CINEMA FOR PEACE Foundation in Berlin (Germany) asked The Bridge Magazine to support the Foundation by posting the petition below.

“Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
It is estimated that between 1993 and 2003 over two million children lost their lives due to armed conflicts. Over six million were physically maimed and there are approximately 300 000 child soldiers at any given time. They are often forcefully abducted from their homes, used as fodder on the front lines, as testers of minefields, as suicide bombers or as sexual slaves. Schools and hospitals, where children should be able to find solace and care, are often targeted in unlawful armed attacks. A former child soldier stated:

“I would like you to give a message. Please do your best to tell the world what is happening to us, the children. So that other children don’t have to pass through this violence.” …
