Alberto Forchielli The Bridge MAG image

There is something you can never take away from Italian men: their natural charm. And high-ranking capitalist and academic, Alberto Forchielli, is no exception. But behind Forchielli’s well-shaped eyebrows and piercing eyes is the focused mind of a sharp operator and with a strong sense of entrepreneurialism.

Alberto Forchielli was, as the ageold saying goes, ‘born with a silver spoon in his mouth’: he is one of those ‘Daddy’s boys’ who has managed to shape up a world-class profile that has thrust him into the global business limelight, matching the precedent set by his equally successful father.

Aristocratic by birth, Alberto is the only son of Paolo Forchielli, one of the most well-known civil lawyers and university lecturers at the Bologna University of his time. Alberto’s mother, Maria Grazia Dal Monte Casoni, was the daughter of Giacomo Dal Monte Casoni, lawyer and president of the Cassa di Risparmio of Imola in 1945, who was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies in 1948. The residence of Casoni Dal Monte’s family is Palazzo Dal Monte Casoni, an old and prestigious building in the centre of Imola.

Born on 28 December1955, Alberto Forchielli grew up in Imola and had a special and close relationship with his mother.

Alberto Forchielli’s future seemed mapped out at birth. One picture speaks for itself: at age two, Alberto already had inquisitive eyes, a self-confident posture and visibly acquisitive mien. One might argue the Forchielli surname is a currency in itself.

One of the founding partners of Mandarin Capital Partners, Forchielli owes his strategic expertise to 30 years of experience in the international business arena, a decade of which primarily focused on international business development in China and India.

Since 2008, Forchielli has been founding President of Cleantech Srl, a solar project development company with headquarters inImola,Italy. Also since 2008, he has been a member of the Advisory Board of CEIBS (Chinese Europe International  ).

Charitable, philanthropic and humanitarian, Forchielli also founded, and currently  presides over, “Osservatorio  Asia”, a non-profit research centre focused on Asia. Prior to this, he worked for three years at the World Bank in WashingtonDC, where he was started out as Senior Adviser at the Private Sector Development Department, and was then seconded to the European Investment Bank to managed a portfolio for the Balkans.

During the five years previous to these appointments, he lived in Singapore, where he was President for the Asia Pacific portfolio for Finmeccanica S.p.A…

The Harvard Business School graduated has mostly been influenced by the theories and methods of Professors Beniamino Andreatta and Romano Prodi. Beniamino (Nino) Andreatta (11 August 1928 – 26 March 2007)  was an Italian economist and politician, and one of the founders of the Italian People’s Party in 1994
