Paris, the ‘city of romance’, turned into a war zone overnight, following a series of devastating gun and bomb attacks on defenceless citizens on Friday 13th November 2015.
It is believed that hundreds of Parisians have been severely wounded and killed. But those who took away the French fierté d’être and joie de vivre and who are to blame should not be our main concern at this moment.
In a bid to prevent this carnage happening again, not only in Paris but elsewhere in the world, The Bridge Magazine seeks to focus on what it means to be human at this hour.

The real challenge for humans today is how to ethically negotiate our way through a rapidly changing, fast-moving and often uncompromising world.

The online thesaurus definition of ‘human being’ is somewhat sterile, it states: ‘any individual of the genus Homo’ only.
One needs to be able to master turpitude, greed and evilness inherent in them to deserve to be called ‘human’.
